Criteria for Success… At the end of today’s lesson, we will begin to read the text Outcast United. Today, we will compare and contrast the experiences of the players of the Fugees and the Atlanta soccer teams. We will analyze the character traits associated with Luma the Fugees coach.

Outcast United The story of the Fugees and Luma Mufleh is a tale of tragedy, triumph, and acceptance for those that thought they would never belong. We recently read a text about the life you can save, Luma, embodied the challenge presented by Peter Singer, and took young boys and girls and built a community of love, trust, and faith in humanity. Luma and the Fugees are the pure essence of what our essential question embraces, how can we help our school, our community, and the world around us.
