1 Planting Science: Plants Growing in Crowded and Not Crowded Environments.

2 Question and Hypothesis
Question: How does planting multiple seeds in the same pot affect plant growth as opposed to planting a single seed in a single pot? Hypothesis: Pot 1, with the least number of seeds will grow taller by an average height of 3 mm.

3 Procedures/Method 1. Planting!! milliliters of soils in each pot One pot would have 2 seeds, the second would have 6 seeds, and the third pot would have 8 seeds Water each pot with equal amount of water every day. (50mililiters) 3. Water plants each class 4. Measure the height of plants in each pot and the growth rate.

4

5 Data Analysis Only 4 plants made it alive in pot 2.
The average height of the plants in pot #1 was 4.5mm. Pot #2 was 7.29mm, and pot #3 was 6.458mm.

6 Data Analysis continued
Pot 2 had the tallest plants The growth rate between pot 2 and pot 3 was similar Pot 1 had the shortest plants

7 Plant Growth Data Chart
Day 2 Pot 1 0mm Pot 2 Pot 3 Day 7 2mm 5mm 4.5mm 3.5mm 4mm 6mm 7mm Day 9 5.5mm 7.5mm 6.5mm 8.5mm Day 11 9mm

9 Conclusions In conclusion, the experiment did not support our hypothesis. Plant 2 had the tallest plants and the fastest growth rate. If there could be a change in the experiment, it would be to increase the number of seeds in each pot.
