Using those macroscopic observations to determine what is happening on the microscopic level.
MACROSCOPIC = visible to the naked eye!
MICROSCOPIC = invisible to the naked eye!

Conductor: electricity flows easily (ex. Copper)
Insulator: electricity does not flow easily (ex. plastic)

The probes are the ONLY part that should touch liquid. The blue part should never get wet.
Always turn the meter OFF after use.
Rinse the probes with distilled water after each use.
