Plant ‘Eco Driving’
A review of the content of Sentinel, internal & external On Track Plant training courses is underway to assess current /the addition of new environmental considerations with a view to developing an ‘eco driving’ module that can be incorporated and rolled out across the industry.
Plant Selection Guide
Users guide is being prepared which will help those who select/specify plant on the most power/fuel efficient pieces of plant that can be used for different track renewal activities. This will also consider hand tools and in future will be expanded to include generators and welfare facilities
Road Rail Vehicle Performance System
Review underway as to how data from the RRVPS can be interpreted to enable the selection, use and proactive maintenance of rail plant to ensure it operates at maximum efficiency and is less likely to cause environmentally damaging leaks or spills.
