2. General information
He was born on October 22, 1959, in Kansas City, Kansas.
He attended Washington High School.
He ran track and field for the school and set to school records in the mile (4:18.4) and in the two mile (9:20.4). These records still stand today.

4. Becoming the con artist
When he was 16, he enrolled in Palo Alto High School.
He was using a different name ( Jay Mitchell Huntsman).
But he was exposed by a local reporter.
Then he enrolled at Princeton University 2 years later under the name of Alexi Indris Santana.
3 years later he was arrested for defrauding the university for $30,000 in financial aid. Then he was sentenced to 3 years in jail with a 5 year probation and 100 hours of community service.

6. Cons / Frauds
On May 16, 1993 he had taken a job as a security guard in one of Harvard’s campus museums. He was using a different identity at the time.
Several months into his job, museum officials noticed that several items had been replaced with fakes.
Police confronted him in his on home and they charged him with grand larceny in the large amount of $50,000.

7. More Cons / Frauds
In January 2005 police with a warrant to search Hogue's home in San Miguel County, Colorado found 7,000 stolen items from homes that he had worked in as a repairman.
The items that he had stolen added up to $100,000.
On February 4, 2006, by the United States Marshal Richard J. Tracy Jr. and some deputies from the Pima County sheriff’s department. They did this while he was surfing the internet at a local barns and noble store.

9. How he got away
On March 12, 2007 Hogue pleaded guilty to a single felony count of theft of more than $15,000 by receiving in exchange for a prison sentence less than 10 years.
The prosecutor’s agreement to drop the other theft and habitual criminal charges.

10. What he could have done different
First off he could have not stolen the identity of all of thoughts people.
Second he could have not stolen all the items that he had taken.
It sounded like he was doing really good before his life of crime, so I think he could have not started one in the first place.
