NOTES Proportion – an equation stating that two ratios are equal
The two ratios are constant. Example: Is 20/30 proportionate to 2/3? Example: Is 1/3 proportionate to 2/8? Example: Is 3/4 proportionate to 5/8? Example: Give a ratio that 1/2 is proportionate to.

NOTES Cross products – multiply the denominator of each ratio by the numerator of the other ratio In a proportion, the cross products are ALWAYS equal to one another. You can use the cross products to solve a proportion.
