Listen to the Song “Fortunate Son” by Creedence Clearwater Revival and read over the lyrics
We will discuss what you think the lyrics mean
You will then need to look up at least three different protest songs from the 1960s. Analyze the lyrics and write down the most important aspects of a protest song As well the titles and artists

3. Directions
You will be working on this project on your own and it must be original work
Get a piece of paper from the table and something to write with
Using the research you did on protest songs, you are going to write your own song/poem
It can be about a school policy or something going on politically or socially that you care about. It must be school appropriate though -nothing illicit

4. Requirements Three stanzas a minimum of five lines per stanza
Think of it as a poem it that helps -it does not have to rhyme
Again, It can be about anything that isn’t illicit. School, politics, social issues
