2. Marketing Creating the vision
Plan well thought out and presented in simple steps Data clearly showed our need Students at the center
14
3. Assess each student All students were assessed using the same Phonics Infrastructure and a cold read of leveled text. Students were placed in our continuum based on their lowest level need Read Aloud Concepts of Print Initial Consonants Sight Words Initial Blends & Digraphs Onset + Sight Word/Rime 2-Syllable Words Multisyllabic Words Irregularly Spelled Words & Chapter Books Tier II Vocabulary in Context Academic Vocabulary Latin & Greek Roots & Genre Expansion Genre Expansion Author's Craft, Point of View Literary Analysis College & Career Ready

8. Time 40 minutes daily Blocked out in master schedule
Communicated to parents 3 week cycles
20
Action
21
Implementation Students transition to reteach & enrich teacher’s classroom One person is designated to stay in the front office to direct lost students Custodians sweep the halls to ensure students get to their classes Everyone in the halls during transition time Teachers must leave a plan for the substitute if they plan to be on leave or call in sick. Reteach & enrich is NEVER cancelled.
22
How we kept momentum going…
Constant communication of the data Communicating targets to students helped to motivate them to move to the next level Hot 100 Through data, we were able to identify 100 students who were “stuck” on certain skills for more than 9 weeks. Communication between homeroom and reteach & enrich teacher
