1 How to become a Chief Executive Officer
EaeMya’s Career Path How to become a Chief Executive Officer

2 My Career Goals I want to become a chief executive officer by 2035.
To get there, I will need to: Graduate high school by June, 2019 I will also need a post secondary education in some form of business A lot of experience in the field

3 What is Chief Executive Officer - CEO?
A chief executive officer (CEO) is the highest ranking executive in a company. Their first responsibilities include making major corporate decisions, managing the overall company and resources of a company as well as being the main point of communication between the board of directors and corporate operations. The role of CEO differs from one company to another depending on the size of the company and it’s overall structure CEO of Smaller companies often has a much more hands on role in the company where as larger companies, the CEO typically deals with only higher level company strategy and directing overall growth.

4 About my future career CEOs work from their company, office and sometimes home. The salary range varies for CEO but the average for CEOs range usually between $582, $946, 406. The salary can vary widely depending on variety of factors. The CEOs surveyed reported that they work hours per week and hours per day. They also spend an average of 2.5 hours in meetings every day.

5 Does my job has a chance of becoming automated?
Being a Chief Executive Officer means you have to make professional and personal connections with other organizations. You have to be able to manage and make strategic ideas for the company and present your visions of the company to your employees. I don’t think a robot can all that and more.

6 Chief Executive Officer would be great for me because…
I am an extrovert who is eager to go out and share my or my work’s stories I am able to adapt easily I am able to take control of a situation and I believe I have strong leadership skills.

7 I am not quite ready for this career, but I will get there!
These are skills for the job I still need to learn: Starting to work and intern in business corporations Making proper deals as well as manage a company. getting post secondary education in related fields Extensive experience. Making Professional personal connections This is how I will get those necessary skills:

8 This is what appeals to me with this career…
CEOs set the tone and the vision for their companies You make a lot of money Women currently hold 29 (5.8%) of CEO positions in Standard & Poor’s 500 and I want to be one of the women who make it. This is what appeals to me with this career…

9 These are some things I find less appealing about this career…
In some cases, the CEO of smaller company’s responsibility becomes muddles. For example in a smaller company or in a company’s start-up phases, the chief executive officer may also be serving as the chief financial officer (CFO) and the chief operating officer (COO) which leads to lack of clarity as well as an overworked executive.

10 Potential obstacles to getting this career
The possible obstacles: My plan to overcome them: Competition with others Make goals for my self and follow through Working from the bottom to the top Keep my mind clear and set on my goal Years of experience Get out and make connections with people in the related field This career is a long term goal Myself (self doubts)

11 Potential obstacles to being successful within this career
The possible obstacles: My plan to overcome them: The stress and pressure being with this job Work hard for what I have in mind Don’t give up because to become a CEO there’s of work and experience Making decisions that is best for all and not overworking Letting others discourage me into thinking I cant make it

12 The training/education required for my career is:
Very few people make it to the top of the corporate ladder without some form of formal education. According to Forbes approximately 40% of Standard & Poor’s 500 CEOs have an MBA. Completing university courses does provide one with exposure to a number of disciplines and causes a person to think, interact and share ideas with others, which are valuable experiences for a CEO to have. The training/education required for my career is:

13 Some undergraduate and graduate degrees of some of the top CEOs.
Larry Page, Co-founder, and former CEO Company: Alphabet, Inc. (Formerly Google) (GOOG) Degree: B.S in Engineering (University of Michigan), M.S in computer Science (Stanford University). Mark Parker, President, and CEO Company: Nike, Inc. (NKE) Degree: B.S in Political Science (Penn State University.) Warren Buffet, Chairman, and CEO Company: Berkshire Hathaway, Inc. (BRK-A) Degree: B.S in Business Administration (University of Nebraska-Lincoln), MBA in Economics from Columbia Business School.

14 “Tuum Est” Which translate to “it is yours” or “it is up to you”

15 I intend to go to University of British Columbia for that career
University of British Columbia is located in Vancouver. I would take the Dual Degree program offered at UBC which lets me get two bachelors as well as study abroad in France for two years. I will earn a Bachelor in Faculty of arts as well as a Bachelor in Commerce. The program is 4 years long but I intend to continue on with MBA after the program. The first two years I study in France, I pay tuition to the partner university which will cost me €10,150/year. The last two year I will pay tuition to UBC which will cost me about $7,700/year.

16 Here is where I can get that:
You need general requirements for each school as well as program specific requirements to be accepted into the program. For UBC, applicants with an interim average of 84% or higher are eligible to be considered for admission. Students in the dual program must participate in the Dual BA summer seminars each summer. Year 1 and 2 will be spent at SciencesPo and year 3 and 4 will be at UBC. Here is where I can get that:

17 Financial Plan I am going to pay for my program:
I will be working a part time job throughout my senior years in high school as well as in university. I was also apply for financial aids and scholarships I also have a savings account and financial help from my uncle.
