3. Statement 1:
Inclusion is the meshing of general and special education into a unified system

4. Statement 2:
There are no specific inclusive didactic methods, all good didactic methods can be used in an inclusive setting.

5. Statement 3:
Inclusion means equal access to the core curriculum.

6. Statement 4:
Identifying children as ‘having special educational needs’ is not a good inclusive practice.

7. Statement 5:
Developing inclusion involves reducing ‘disciplinary exclusion’ (the temporary or permanent removal of a student from class or school for breaches of school rules).

General and special educators traditionally have not been taught to work together. Training toward this end has to be common.

Families need to be meaningfully and equitably involved in educational planning for their children.

Successful inclusion requires developing an instructional technology that views student learning as the combined effects of instructional methods used for all students in the class and those used to meet the unique needs of each student
