Road Safety Performance Forum
2
BACKGROUND Young drivers (17-24 year olds) make up a disproportionate number of KSIs on our roads and is a country wide issue. Across the UK, a number of road safety partnerships, deliver live road safety ‘performances’ to year olds, such as ‘Safe Drive Stay Alive’, ‘Learn 2 Live’, ‘Licence to Kill’ and other similar road safety programmes, but with limited ‘cross border’ working or communication. James Evans, from First Car, approached the two of us, asking if we would be interested in, and possibly Chairing, a road safety forum that focused on live ‘performances’ to young people. The first meeting was held in summer 2015.
