3. THE KEY FEATURES OF GRAPHIC NOVELS ARE…

4. PANELS
Panels - Usually rectangles that the images within Graphic Novels are drawn in.
Panels size can vary to emphasize the importance of the frame, or to focus the readers gaze on an event.

5. Show me: Draw me a 4 panel comic (using stick figures) make one panel (the most important one) larger.

6. SPEECH AND THOUGHT BUBBLES
The speech and thought bubbles are used to assign ownership to internal or external dialogue.

7. Show me: Create a one frame comic that has your character saying one thing, whilst thinking something totally different.

8. MOTION LINES
Motion Lines are used to portray an objects movement.

10. CAPTIONS
Captions are used to convey information that is not able to be conveyed through art or speech.

Sound effects are usually represented without bubbles and are drawn in bold or 3D and always in uppercase
