2. Come Holy Spirit, fill the hearts of your faithful and kindle in them the fire of your love. Send forth your Spirit and they shall be created. And You shall renew the face of the earth.
O, God, who by the light of the Holy Spirit, did instruct the hearts of the faithful, grant that by the same Holy Spirit we may be truly wise and ever enjoy His consolations, Through Christ Our Lord, Amen.

3. Literal meaning Where? Luke 24 – on the road to Emmaus from Jerusalem
When? The first day of the week after Jesus’ death, during the day
What? Jesus walks with two disciples and gradually reveals himself
Who? Jesus, 2 disciples: Cleopas and one unknown disciple
How? Jesus explains the Scriptures and breaks the bread for them
Why? Jesus gives them access to his person in Word and Sacrament

4. HOPE ‘Jesus himself came up and walked by their side’
‘their faces downcast’
‘our own hope had been…’
‘of him they saw nothing…’
‘starting from Moses…he explained to them…’
‘they pressed him to stay with them’
‘and their eyes were opened…’

you who, moved by the Holy Spirit,

help us to say our own “yes”
to the urgent call, as pressing as ever,
to proclaim the good news of Jesus.
Mother of the living Gospel,
wellspring of happiness for God’s little ones,
pray for us.
