Closing remarks There are laws put into place to protect your child’s rights. In todays world, a child having a disability is not big news. Children with disabilities are included in classrooms along with children who are nondisabled and disabled children have become friends with nondisabled children. An IEP is a very useful tool and they hold a lot of information about your child. A child who may have a disability is with a professional one on one for any amount of time during the week before the conclusion of whether or not they actually do have a disability is made.

Why I chose these topics
For this project I chose to write about several different topics. These topics include IDEA, ADA, IEP, IFSP, RTI, and LRE. I decided the best way to begin the presentation was to tell about IDEA. Before reading the assigned text, I had no idea that there was a law in place to protect the right to public education of children with disabilities, and sharing this with the parents of children with disabilities is a top priority. The same goes for why I chose to right about ADA, I had no idea the civil rights of children with disabilities was protected by a law. I chose to write about an IEP specifically because it holds a lot of information about the child and I had no idea teachers were responsible for developing this document for children. I was able to sit in on a meeting with my Service Learning site and I got a lot of information about the IEP document. An IFSP document is very interesting and I wanted to share with parents of older children with disabilities, the services and the document that they are provided with. The idea of a RTI is very interesting. It allows for a professional to be around a child numerous times a week to determine if the possess a disability or if it in fact is diminishing. A LRE is also very interesting. The fact that the environment that children with disabilities is such a big concern is overwhelming and I really enjoyed reading about this and learning even more.
