Our Journey for Wholeness
Body, Mind, and Spirit Our Journey for Wholeness

Pope Francis I we prepare for the Jubilee Year of Mercy
*Jubilee year is called by the Church to receive blessing and pardon from God and remission of sins Theme: Mercy → “Be merciful just as your father is merciful” Our school’s patron Saint! teen-sing-part

Youth: Do not walk alone in life!
Pope Francis hopes that for all youth that you may walk hand in hand with someone who loves you **Keep good company** As Pope Francis states: There are times that we are lost, confused, on the wrong path, in circles in a maze, or stop walking because we have grown tired of walking in life
4
food for thought... Who will be your good company? (or who is currently your bad company) How can you walk with courage? What is the first step? We can’t fear the difficulties. What is your fear? After you consider these questions, look up these following Biblical passages: Romans 13:13; Psalms 23:4; Psalms 119:105; 1 John 1:6-7; John 12:35-36 Which inspires you for your first step? To keep walking? To not grow tired? Why?
5
Psalms 23:12 Even though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death,c
I will fear no evil, for you are with me; your rod and your staff comfort me. Psalm 119:105 Your word is a lamp for my feet, a light for my path. John 12:35-36 Jesus said to them, “The light will be among you only a little while. Walk while you have the light, so that darkness may not overcome you. Whoever walks in the dark does not know where he is going.b36While you have the light, believe in the light, so that you may become children of the light.

What is the WHoleness of Life?
A question we must answer first by defining what makes up our life: Body Mind Spirit --It is about how we achieve the wholeness in our life with respect to all three!
7
Jesus and Healing Jesus performed several healing miracles where the ailment or physical disability was cured **but Jesus would first address the emotional pain before treating the physical (Healing of the royal’s son; Healing of the leper...others?) Find examples of healing miracles. What does Jesus first address before curing the ailment?
8
We Must first change our perspective
Sometimes we are blinded by distractions to see the realness of ourselves (wholeness)
9
Were any of the men right?
Were any of the men wrong? Has this ever happen to you? (misunderstanding) What if they weren’t blind? Would they still have different ideas of the elephant? When are we at times blind to what is in front of us?
12
Jesus as our Model We will look to the wholeness of how Jesus embraced body, mind, and spirit as our model to incorporate this wholeness in our lives→ a holistic outlook Wholeness in Jesus’ time: Aramaic(his language) *there was no distinction (or words) to classify our inner life and our life with others
13
Jesus as our Model... Zacchaeus the Tax Collector
Luke 19:1-10 Zacchaeus the Tax Collector --remember tax collectors during Jesus’ time?? Why is this story peculiar to Jesus’ contemporaries? What is Jesus teaching us?
15
Zone The simultaneous union and interplay
of our body, mind and spirit. The more in sync we are the greater the possibilities of a healthier, happier lifestyle.
16
Zone and our Maturity Maturity: a process evolving with age and experience whereby we enter more fully into our own personhood → Maturity implies responsibility **Responsibility: the state or fact of being accountable or to blame for something.
