Experiment Video Project
Design your own experiment and make a video presentation MODIFICATION Technology allows for significant task redesign. You will work with a partner and create your own experiment. In your experiment, you must identify the steps of scientific method and the following parts – control, independent variable, dependent variable, and constants. You will perform the experiment at home. The experiment must be videoed using your smart phones/device, such as iPhone or iPad. If you do not have access to this at home, you may come to my classroom come before school, RTI, or after school to perform your experiment and video with an iPad. You will then make a video presentation of your experiment using iMovie, Animoto, or Powtoon. This presentation must include the identification of the parts of the experiment and scientific method listed in step 2 of these directions. This task uses: -smart phone or device -iMovie or Animoto or Powtoon Learning Objective(s): Write a testable question or hypothesis when given a topic (SI-H-A1). Plan and record step-by- step procedures for a valid investigation, select equipment and materials, and identify variables and controls (SI-H-A2) TEACHER NOTES: Teacher’s name/ Tracy Breaux School: Sam Houston Louisiana State Standard: Use technology when appropriate to enhance laboratory investigations and presentations of findings (SI-H-A3). R Comment and Critique -internet -computer or iPad -blackboard
Post project to blackboard for peer review and critique REDEFINITION Technology allows for the creation of new tasks that were previously not conceivable. Log in to teacher blackboard. Click on “Biology” on the left side. Click on “Unit 1” folder. Upload your project/video presentation into the discussion board labeled “Scientific Method Discussion”. You will critique and comment on each of the other projects. You must have at least positive and one thing that could possibly be changed and a reason why. This task uses: -internet -computer or iPad -blackboard Learning Objective(s): Use technology when appropriate to enhance laboratory investigations and presentations of findings (SI- H-A3 TEACHER NOTES: Teacher’s name/ Tracy Breaux School: Sam Houston Louisiana State Standard: Use technology when appropriate to enhance laboratory investigations and presentations of findings (SI-H-A3).
