2. Childhood Life Abraham Maslow grew up in Brooklyn, New York.
He was the oldest of 7 children.
His parents pushed him hard in his academics.
He quickly became a loner and found a passion in books.

3. Maslow’s Theory
Maslow wanted to understand what motivates people. He believed that people possess a set of motivation systems unrelated to rewards or unconscious desires. Maslow stated that people are motivated to achieve certain needs, and that some needs take precedence over others. Our most basic need is for physical survival, and this will be the first thing that motivates our behavior. Once that level is fulfilled the next level up is what motivates us, and so on.

4. Maslow’s Theory Explained
Basically he made the pyramid shown explaining that everyone has a hierarchy to their lives starting with basic survival needs to your own wants.

5. Agree or Disagree? Dylan’s Opinion Pierce’s Opinion
I agree that our lives revolve around the hierarchy of his triangle. We start with the basic needs for survival then move to the more wants than needs in the end.
I agree with the theory, as food, water, health and security are a need, while friends, relationships and self esteem are less of a need, although you won’t stay sane without any of them.

6. Best Known For?
Maslow was best known for a combination of intellectual and social research.
A big part of his research was human sexuality; however, he also served as the chair of the psychology department from 1951to 1969.

7. Examples We See Everyday
Restaurants, people fulfill their health needs with food.
Police, Police give us that feeling of safety and security.
Society, people going out in public for their social needs.
