9 You never realize how lonely you are until it’s the end of the day
And you’ve got a bunch of things To talk about and no one to talk to.

11 Relational Poverty is a
modern-day epidemic

12 “It is not good for the man to be alone”
(Genesis 2:18)

13 People were created to be in communion with each other

14 Lonely people have relationships
but lack communion

15 Before we can be in communion with each other, we must be in
communion with Christ.

16 5 This is the message we heard from Jesus and now declare to you: God is light, and there is no darkness in him at all. 6 So we are lying if we say we have fellowship with God but go on living in spiritual darkness; we are not practicing the truth.

17 7 But if we are living in the light, as God is in the light, then we have fellowship with each other, and the blood of Jesus, his Son, cleanses us from all sin. (1 John 1:5-7)

18 1) We love with touch

19 2 Suddenly, a man with leprosy approached him and knelt before him
2 Suddenly, a man with leprosy approached him and knelt before him. “Lord,” the man said, “if you are willing, you can heal me and make me clean.” 3 Jesus reached out and touched him. “I am willing,” he said. “Be healed!” And instantly the leprosy disappeared. (Matthew 8:2-3)

21 2) We love with listening

22 17 He asked them, “What are you discussing so intently as you walk along?”
They stopped short, sadness written across their faces. 18 Then one of them, Cleopas, replied, “You must be the only person in Jerusalem who hasn’t heard about all the things that have happened there the last few days.”

23 19 “What things?” Jesus asked.
“The things that happened to Jesus, the man from Nazareth,” they said. “He was a prophet who did powerful miracles, and he was a mighty teacher in the eyes of God and all the people. (Luke 24:17-19)

24

25 How often do you listen to understand ?

26 3) We love with time

27

28 It is the call of the church to love the lonely, empower the poor, embrace the orphans, and do what we can to reconcile the races

29

30 The Church ministry model:
1) Distance ourselves 2) Create apathy 3) Create passivity

31 The Jesus ministry model:
1) Close the gap 2) Connect yourself 3) Care for the person
