7 Questions for Discussion:
What is Blake’s purpose and who is his audience for “The Tyger”? What ways does Blake use questions to encourage the reader’s exploration of the poem? Count up the number of questions in each stanza: what do you notice? What effect does the rhythm have on the message? How important is Blake’s fusion of sight and sound as an artist and poet? How do the poems work harmoniously to convey a similar theme or message?

8 Writing Task! Compose two contrasting four-line poems on two different animals (e.g. wolf and sparrow, slug and peacock, etc.). They should start with the repeated name, or phrase, and ask a question. For example: Grey wolf fierce, grey wolf fierce Prowling through the snow, What are you thinking? Where are you going? As you track your foe
