3. I. Change in Demand
The study of how people change their demand for a particular product when the business changes its price
Using elasticity of demand helps a business determine what prices it should set on its goods/services (maximize total revenue)

If a change in price results in a large change in the quantity demanded, the demand for the product is said to be “elastic.”
Examples = luxury items such as computers, toys, fancy new cars, ect…

If a change in price results in little change to the quantity demanded, the demand for the product is said to be, “inelastic”
Examples = necessities such as milk for a baby, gas for your car so you can get to work, a postage stamp…
