4 Course Expectations By the end of AP Spanish you will be able to:
Write a formal 4-5 paragraph essay Give a 2 minute formal presentation comparing and contrasting cultural differences and similarities Write an informal , invitation or reply Hold an informal conversation about daily life Listen and read authentic pod casts and texts and respond accurately to the content.

5 Course rigors This course will provide extensive practice with the four areas of language acquisition: reading, writing, listening and speaking, in order to match the abilities expected on the AP exam.

6 Course projects This course is a language and culture class, therefore we will also explore cooking, music, art, science and other topics as we compare and contrast some of the 21 countries that speak Spanish. We will also be introduced to Spanish cinema as a way to understand Hispanic values.

7 Grading You will be graded not on tests, but rather the four areas of language acquisition. Students will be able to recognize which areas they need to further develop. Speaking 20% Writing 20% Listening 20% Reading 20% Projects 20%
