The cycle of times
3
There is a warning for all
Deuteronomy 6:10 When the LORD your God brings you into the land he swore to your fathers, to Abraham, Isaac and Jacob, to give you—a land with large, flourishing cities you did not build,
4
houses filled with all kinds of good things you did not provide, wells you did not dig, and vineyards and olive groves you did not plant—then when you eat and are satisfied,
5
be careful that you do not forget the LORD, who brought you out of Egypt, out of the land of slavery. Fear the LORD your God, serve him only and take your oaths in his name.
6
Do not follow other gods, the gods of the peoples around you…

Good Times and Faith
9
Isaiah spoke to God’s own
For behold, the Lord GOD of hosts is going to remove from Jerusalem and Judah Both supply and support, the whole supply of bread And the whole supply of water WHY GOD?
10
Why – 3:8ff For Jerusalem has stumbled and Judah has fallen, Because their speech and their actions are against the LORD, To rebel against His glorious presence.
11
The expression of their faces bears witness against them, And they display their sin like Sodom; They do not even conceal it. Woe to them! For they have brought evil on themselves.
12
Say to the righteous that it will go well with them, For they will eat the fruit of their actions. Woe to the wicked! It will go badly with him, For what he deserves will be done to him.
13
O My people. Their oppressors are children, And women rule over them
O My people! Their oppressors are children, And women rule over them. O My people! Those who guide you lead you astray And confuse the direction of your paths.
14
The LORD arises to contend, And stands to judge the people.
15
Isaiah 9:5 Every warrior’s boot used in battle and every garment rolled in blood will be destined for burning, will be fuel for the fire.
16
The solution Isaiah 9:6,7 For to us a child is born, to us a son is given, and the government will be on his shoulders. And he will be called Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace.
17
Of the greatness of his government and peace there will be no end
Of the greatness of his government and peace there will be no end. He will reign on David’s throne and over his kingdom, establishing and upholding it with justice and righteousness from that time on and forever. The zeal of the LORD Almighty will accomplish this.
18
Don’t miss this Isaiah 29:14b “And the wisdom of their wise men will perish, And the discernment of their discerning men will be concealed.”
19
1 Corinthians. 1:19 For it is written,
“I WILL DESTROY THE WISDOM OF THE WISE, AND THE CLEVERNESS OF THE CLEVER I WILL SET ASIDE...”
20
V. 22,23 For indeed Jews ask for [fn]signs and Greeks search for wisdom; but we preach Christ crucified, to Jews a stumbling block and to Gentiles foolishness
21
The one who would deliver would look like a failure
Isaiah 53:1-6 Who has believed our message and to whom has the arm of the LORD been revealed?
22
He grew up before him like a tender shoot, and like a root out of dry ground. He had no beauty or majesty to attract us to him, nothing in his appearance that we should desire him.
23
He was despised and rejected by mankind, a man of suffering, and familiar with pain. Like one from whom people hide their faces he was despised, and we held him in low esteem.
24
Surely he took up our pain and bore our suffering, yet we considered him punished by God, stricken by him, and afflicted.
25
But he was pierced for our transgressions, he was crushed for our iniquities; the punishment that brought us peace was on him, and by his wounds we are healed.
26
We all, like sheep, have gone astray, each of us has turned to our own way; and the LORD has laid on him the iniquity of us all.
27
Jesus Christ Philippians 2:5ff In your relationships with one another, have the same mindset as Christ Jesus: Who, being in very nature God, did not consider equality with God something to be used to his own advantage;
28
rather, he made himself nothing by taking the very nature of a servant, being made in human likeness. And being found in appearance as a man, he humbled himself by becoming obedient to death— even death on a cross!
29
Therefore God exalted him to the highest place and gave him the name that is above every name,
30
that at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, in heaven and on earth and under the earth, and every tongue acknowledge that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father.
31
Jesus said… “Do not let your hearts be troubled. You believe in God; believe also in me…“I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.
32
Jesus said… “If anyone hears my words but does not keep them, I do not judge that person. For I did not come to judge the world, but to save the world.
33
Jesus said… There is a judge for the one who rejects me and does not accept my words; the very words I have spoken will condemn them at the last day.
