2 Modules – Draft State Draft State allows content in Modules to exist in an unpublished (draft) state. Unpublished modules are invisible to students. Note: Files added to a module cannot be unpublished (put the file on a content page)

3 Create a Module Click the Create a Module button Name the Module
Click Add Module

4 Delete a Module Click the Settings icon [1]. Select Delete [2]
Click OK button to confirm

5 Add an Item to a Module The following can be added to a Module:
Assignment Quiz Content Page Discussion Text Header External URL

6 Adding an External URL There are many different web browser security options. Follow these instructions to ensure your external URL opens successfully in Canvas. Click the Add Item (+) button Add External URL Edit Information Click Load in a new tab (3) Add Item

7 Duplicate Module Items
You can use duplicate module items to check learner’s understanding and provide review information before assignments or exams. Caution: this is a duplication any change to content is carried through all module locations.

8 Lock a Module Click the Settings Icon. Select the Edit link.
Click Lock module until a given date Click Update Module The unlock date & time will appear next to the bottom of the module.

9 Add a Prerequisite to a Module
Prerequisites are associated requirements in modules, all must be completed within to progress. Caution: without setting requirements in order, prerequisites do not serve a purpose. Click the Edit link Click Add Prerequisite link (only visible with at least two modules) Edit Settings Update Module Prerequisites will appear at the bottom of the module.

10 Add a Requirement to a Module
All content must be added to the module before setting requirements. Select Edit link. Click Add Requirement link. Click the For drop-down to select a requirement. Click Users Must to select the result of the requirement. Note: depending on assignment, you have four options View the item Contribute to the page Submit the assignment Score at least (additional field will appear)

11 View Student Progress Caution: this option is only available when you have requirements set within your Modules.
