2 Myth The first references of Atlantis were in Plato’s works: Critias and Timaeus in 360 BC. In his work Critias, the origins of Atlantis are discussed with Socrates. The story ends with the demise of the Atlanteans by the hands of Zeus. Some of the dialogues have however been lost. Timaeus, his other work, is a continuation of Critias’ story about Atlantis, in which was mentioned the state of Atlantis and it’s foreign relations.

Though the Athens soldiers were greatly outnumbered, they were more organized and were able to overthrow Atlantis. This could also be a good opportunity to explore the way that the Atlantean soldiers might have looked.
