Bicycling Cycling is a great exercise for people suffering from bad posture or excessive weight. Cycling is a low impact exercise that strengthens joints and cartilage. 5 Swimming Swimming helps asthma patients in avoiding asthma attacks; it helps in their breathing methods and can improve their condition in general. Swimming releases endorphins and has the same effects as yoga on the human body, thus helping in relieving stress. Swimming not only tones your muscles, it also helps strengthen your bones, especially at an advanced age. Return to Home

Rowing Rowing works more body parts than most cardiovascular machines, and it provides a low-impact exercise that people of various fitness levels can complete comfortably. Competitive rowers expend almost twice the number of calories on a 2,000-meter course as a runner in a 3,000-meter steeplechase. Rowing enhances your lung’s ability to provide oxygen to the blood, heart and the rest of your body. Rowing conditions many different muscles and joints without straining them, making this exercise ideal for those with arthritis or osteoporosis. Return to Home

Weight Lifting Weight-bearing exercise and particularly strength training is thought to increase bone density, reducing the risk of bone fractures. A resistance training routine has been shown to lower blood pressure. Weight lifting will help to reduce the speed of muscle loss as you age. Another name for muscle loss with age is sarcopenia. 8 Yoga Improved balance is one of the most important benefits of yoga as you get older. Increased flexibility and strength can help prevent the causes of some types of back pain. Doing yoga improves your mind-body connection, giving you a better awareness of your own body. The movements necessary for yoga are low impact, allowing you to use your joints without injuring them. Yoga also helps strengthen the muscles around the joints, lessening their load. Return to Home

Boxing Boxing can burn as high as calories in a single hour work out depending on the intensity. Boxing improves the strength and flexibility of all muscle groups in the body. It also helps to develop joints and overall skeletal system. Boxing can teach you countless combinations of kicks and punches. This can be used as self-defense if you ever end up in a dangerous situation. Return to Home

Skiing As an aerobic endurance activity, skiing can help an individual burn calories and lose weight. Skiers are about 40 percent fitter than physically fit individuals, suggesting that the full-body workout provided by cross-country skiing is uniquely effective. Nordic skiing burns more calories than any other form of exercise or sport — up to 1,122 calories per hour. Return to Home
