Monday, September 25, 2017 Get the following supplies to set up the tissue lab 14 sheets of computer paper A ruler A paper clip Blue or black ink pen; NO PENCIL!!! A petri dish Also get out a sheet of notebook paper

2 Grading for tissue lab (copy down on a sheet of notebook paper)
Title pages (5 x 1 pt) = 5 pts Drawings (15 x 1 pts) = 15 pts Name of tissue (15 x 1pt) = 15 pts Location of tissue (15 x 1 pt) = 15 pts Function of tissue (15 x 1 pt) = 15 pts Each part labeled (44 x 0.25 pt) = 11 pts Drawings in color (15 x 1) = 15 Neatness = 9 pts TOTAL = 100 POINTS (weighted 3 x)

3 Drawings Must be Neat In color Have parts labeled
Labels must be in straight line Labels cannot cross each other

4 Mess-ups / errors Cross out w/ single line No white out!
Like this No white out! Write only on the front of the paper

5 Number your pages Bottom right corner No larger that 1 cm2

8 Pgs. 3, 4, & 5 Draw a line across the paper, dividing it into top & bottom halves Trace a circle in the middle of the top and bottom P. 3 – top = Simple squamous epithelium P. 3 – bottom = Simple cuboidal epithelium For each write “Location” & Function”

9 p. 3, 4, & 5 P. 4 – top = Simple columnar epithelium
P. 4 – bottom = Pseudostratified columnar epithelium P. 5 – top = Stratified Squamous epithelium P. 5 – bottom = Transitional epithelium

10 p. 6 Connective Tissues title page

11 p. 7, 8, 9 Draw line dividing top & bottom halves
Draw a circle on each half P. 7 top = Bone P. 7 bottom = Hyaline cartilage P. 8 top = Fibrocartilage P. 8 bottom = Adipose P. 9 Blood (you can put it top or do it in middle of page)

13 p. 11, 12 Draw line dividing top & bottom halves
Draw a circle on each half P. 11 top = Striated (skeletal) muscle P. 11 bottom = Cardiac muscle P. 12 Visceral (smooth) muscle (can be on top or middle)

14 p. 13, 14 P. 13 = Nervous Tissue title page
P. 14 = Motor Nerve Cell (draw circle at top or middle)

15 For each tissue Make sure you have labeled “Location” & “Function”
Use Ch. 3 of your text book to fill these in

16 You will begin working on microscopes Thursday
