1 Dinosaur fact file Tyrannosaurus rex
Tyrannosaurus rex measured up to 13m (42ft) in length, 4m (13ft) at the hip and could weigh up to 7 tons! By, taygan smith The Tyrannosaurus-rex lived on earth about 67 million to 65 million years ago.  The tyrannosaurus-rex lives in open forests with nearby rivers and in coastal forested swamps. ‘Tyrannosaurus’ comes from the Greek words meaning ‘tyrant lizard’, while the word ‘rex’ means ‘king’ in Latin. The Tyrannosaurus-rex was a very big meat that also meant eating other threating dinosaur, a dinosaur that eats meat is also called a carnivore. Fun fact The skull of a Tyrannosaurus rex alone measured up to 1.5m (5ft) long.

2 Velociraptor A fully grown Velociraptor could grow up to 2m (6.6ft) in length, 0.5m (1.6ft) in height at the hip and weigh up to 15kg (33lb). Velociraptaor lived around 73 million years ago. FACT The name Velociraptor means ‘swift seizer’. Velociraptors were scavengers. As well as hunting smaller prey, they would have eaten leftover carcasses killed by larger dinosaurs. Velociraptors are meat eater that means they eat over dinosaurs. The first known Velociraptor fossil was found in the Mongolian Gobi Desert in 1922. Velociraptor can reach up about 46 kph (28.5 mph). That's faster than the fastest human sprinter (Usain Bolt.) Velociraptors defended themselves with there bone crushing teeth.

3 Brachiosaurus The name Brachiosaurus comes from Greek words meaning ‘arm’ and ‘lizard’. The brachiosaurus had a long neck The first fossils were found in the Colorado River of the United States of America in 1900. FACT It is estimated that Brachiosaurus ate between 200 and 400 kilograms (440 and 880 pounds) of plants every day! An asteroid found in the main asteroid belt of the Solar System was named after the Brachiosaurus. Brachiosaurus was an herbivore, a plant eater. The Brachiosaurus was found in North America and in Africa.

4 Ankylosaurus The Ankylosaurus around 66 million years ago.
Ankylosaurus were herbivores (plant eaters) and had small teeth relative to their body size. FACT The name Ankylosaurus means ‘fused lizard’. Based on the locations where its fossils have been found, Ankylosaurus is believed to inhabited the Laramidia.  Ankylosaurus measured up to 6.25 m (20.5 feet) in length, 1.7 m (5.6 feet) in height, and weighed 6 tonnes (13,000 lb). The Ankylosaurus had armoured plates on his back and armoured eyes. The Ankylosaurus defended it self by it strong club tail.

5 Spinosaurus The Spinosaurus lived around 100 million years ago in north Africa. Spinosaurus was the biggest of all the carnivorous (meat eaters.) The spinosaurus used it’s sharp teeth. FACT The name Spinosaurus means ‘spine lizard’. The Spinosaurus was the first dinosaur that was able to swim The Spinosaurus has spikes on it’s back.
