2 Europe’s Time Efficiency Goals
Flightpath Europe’s Vision for Aviation - TE related goals Meeting Societal & market needs 90% of travellers within Europe are able to complete their journey, door-to-door within 4 hours Flights arrive within 1 minute of the planned arrival time regardless of weather conditions European citizens are able to make informed mobility choices and have affordable access to one another, taking into account: economy, speed, and tailored level of service An air traffic management system is in place that provides a range of services to handle at least 25 million flights a year of all types of vehicles, (fixed-wing, rotorcraft) and systems (manned, unmanned, autonomous) that are integrated into and interoperable with the overall air transport system with 24-hour efficient operation of airports A coherent ground infrastructure is developed including: airports, vertiports and heliports with the relevant servicing and connecting facilities, also to other modes. Ensuring safety and security Weather and other hazards from the environment are precisely evaluated and risks are properly mitigated. Efficient boarding and security checks allow seamless security for global travel, with minimum passenger and cargo impact.

4 Project Assessment, 5 Steps
For each project we go through the following process: Research basic information (website, reports, …) & complete initial assessment 1 Prepare questionnaire based on basic information 2 Send out questionnaire to project responsible 3 Call with project responsible to confirm initial assessment & discuss further questions 4 Finalize assessment and prepare report 5

17 Economic Ease of Adoption
1 -Low The costs of adoption are very large, e.g. due to high technical complexity of the innovation. 2 -Medium The adoption will require investments that are not significantly high considering the magnitude of the change brought by the innovation. 3- High The costs involved in adopting the innovation are low compared to the magnitude of the change brought by the innovation. Legal Ease of Adoption 1 -Low There are major legal constraints that need to be solved before adoption. Resolving these constraints requires a significant effort. 2 -Medium There are minor legal constraints that must be solved before adoption 3- High The innovation fits in the current legal framework. Adoption is therefore easy from a legal point of view. Organizational Ease of Adoption 1 -Low There are major organizational, institutional or political constraints for adoption by aviation stakeholders; in terms of e.g., operational, infrastructural or social limitations. Resolving these constraints would take a significant effort. 2 -Medium There are organizational, institutional or political constraints for adoption by aviation stakeholders. Resolving these constraints will take time but is rather straightforward. 3- High Aviation stakeholders are keen to adopt, because of the perceived benefits. Any constraints are minor only.

23 Conclusions Many of the projects are quite complex, therefore a short summary on the results section of CORDIS or TRIP is not sufficient to understand the full impact. Not all project results were publicly available. Many of the results related to time efficiency, duration, punctuality and predictability were not quantified. Even though the projects were relevant to time efficiency, the goals often did not involve specific measurements of time efficiency performance indicators.  The majority of the project assessments are qualitative rather than quantitative. Many projects had interesting and potentially useful results, but no visible continuation activities. Visibility into the post-project commercialization was lacking.  Collaboration of large and small, academic and commercial organizations should be promoted. Large companies have the means to aid in the eventual commercialization, small organizations and academic institutions have the ability to propose novel ideas.
