National context At national level quality is assured within legislative framework provided by White Paper 3: 1997 (Programme for transformation of HE) HE Act (1997) SAQA Act (1995) CHE (HEQC) SAQA Act No. 58 of 1995

4 National context HEQC implements its QA mandate through:

5 TUT Approach TUT Council mandates DQP to:
Directorate of Quality Promotion TUT Approach TUT Council mandates DQP to: Quality assure, review and audit all academic and non-academic processes Monitor, evaluate and report on the quality of all academic and non-academic processes Coordinate external national programme reviews Conduct internal site accreditation for migrating and duplicated programmes
