1 SUNDAY 30th April 2017 GOOD NEWS FROM CAYP Chapel Allerton Youth Project is delighted to announce that our application to the Methodist Church's 'One Programme' has been successful. This means that we should have a young person working part time in CAYP for the year starting September Interviews will be held in the first half of May. Recruitment is organised centrally so if you know of a young person (aged 16-23) who might be interested in applying to 'take a year on' as a One Programme Participant, please ask them to look at the One Programme part of the Methodist Church website. Thanks, Hannah Welcome Team Welcoming people into the Church, especially new people or visitors, is obviously a very important part of being in and helping to build our community. Hopefully, you have experienced a positive welcome experience. We now need at least 2 volunteers to join the Welcome team from mid April. We aim to have a rota that allows someone to be on once every 4-5 weeks.  If you can help with this important role, please can you contact Gary Farquhar asap on or Thank you.Gary ST HILD COLLEGE - FORTHCOMING OPEN DAYS In January St Hild College was formed from the merger of The Yorkshire Ministry Course and St Barnabas Theological centre. The new college brings together 115 students, with centres in Sheffield, Mirfield and York. We offer undergraduate and postgraduate awards validated by Durham University through the Common Awards programme. Our teaching staff now combine research expertise in Biblical theology, doctrine and history, pastoral care, leadership and mission. Forthcoming Open Days at the Barnabas Teaching Centre, Sheffield, include May 8th, June 12th and July 3rd. Welcome to Chapel A THIS COMING WEEK Tuesdays at 11am in the church office - a short prayer meeting with the staff and whoever would like to pray for Chapel A. Housegroups generally meet on Monday, Tuesday and alternate Thursday evenings. Please see notice board in corridor. Tuesdays - Totally Tuesday for Years 5-7, pm in Chapel All. Methodist Hall. Wednesday – WOW youth group for Years 8+ in Chapel Allerton Methodist Hall. Please contact Hannah Dey on or about any of our usual groups for young people. Adventurers – Leaders needed Adventurers are looking for a leader to join our creative, playful group. All of our current leaders also help with Messy Church on the 3rd Sunday of the month, so we are hoping to find someone to lead Adventurers on the 3rd Sunday Morning of the month. I thought it would be fun to try and organise a cricket match this summer, hopefully against another church. Lots of details still to be clarified - venue, equipment, date etc but for now I'm just trying to see if we can get enough players! So if you're interested in a fun, friendly, but fiercely competitive cricket match please get in touch with James Dey and Send newsletter notices and news to or phone the church office on Thursday is the cut-off for any notices for that Sunday’s news-sheet.
