3 My Education Bachelor’s Degree in Elementary Education and Special Education. Masters Degree in Reading Certified Reading Specialist

Seneca Valley School District -1 year in 1st grade at Haine Elementary -2nd year in 3rd grade at Evans City Elementary

5 Grading Policy Students will be graded in Reading, Language, Spelling, Math, and Social Sciences Letter Grades: A … B … 80 – 89 C … 70 – 79 D … 60 – 69 F … Below 60 Handwriting will be assessed by O, S, N

6 Homework Policy All homework is mandatory, unless otherwise noted. (Approximately 30 minutes/night) Spelling Spelling lists will be sent home on Fridays so students can begin practicing their words for the following week. For homework, students will choose an activity Monday through Thursday from a grid of practice choices which will need to be signed by a parent and turned in on Fridays. Math -- Homework will usually be nightly Monday through Thursday. Reading There will also be a reading packet given at the beginning of the week. The packet will be due Fridays. This will include reading activities and test taking strategies. Monthly Book Project Each month the students are required to read a book of their choice to present to the class. They will choose from a variety of different ways to present. Agenda/Planner – Students will write homework assignment and parents will sign each night after checking completed homework

8 Olweus Consequences are consistent throughout the school.
Parents will be called at least by the second time child has bullied another child in the school. EC Cares Meeting will be every Day 4.

Small group instruction is based on students’ various needs. Students will apply their learning from whole group instruction either independently or in a small group.

17 Report to Office If your child is late, you MUST sign them in at the main school office before sending them to their room. If you are volunteering with classroom activities, you MUST sign in at the office and have a tag before entering the classroom. You must also fill in a confidentiality form.

18 Vacations / Make-up Work
If your child is absent and you would like homework prepared, please let me know that morning. (You can send a sibling or contact the office.) Vacations – Fill out required “Trip Request” form. Please notify me as soon as possible so assignments can be prepared before you leave.

22 C. A. R. E Time CARE time will be in the morning after special each day. This is a time where students’ learning needs will be met. It can be for reinforcement or enrichment. We will work on both math and LA concepts. Students in the Purpose program, Speech, and OT will meet during this time.
