4. Why is the Liturgy of the Hours Important?
It is a commitment made by religious, deacons, priests and laity to pray this every day
From the very beginning of the church, Christians gathered to celebrate the Messiah in song, stories, service, and breaking of the bread

16 Rejoice always, 17 pray continually, 18 give thanks in all circumstances; for this is God’s will for you in Christ Jesus.

The Liturgy of the Hours is the daily prayer of the Church
Five hours that are included:
Office of Readings
Morning Prayer
Daytime Prayer
Evening Prayer
Night Prayer

Prayer Gives Catholics deeper recognition of the sacredness of each day and all creation
Breaks the day up into times of prayer, which makes the entire day more prayerful
