2. Insert the CD-based installer
On most platforms, the Installer starts automatically when you insert the Cincom Smalltalk CD.

3. The installer doesn’t start automatically
If it does not start automatically
1. Browse your CD’s root directory.
2. Double-click on the installWin.bat command script file.

4. This is the first screen for installing VisualWorks
This is the first screen for installing VisualWorks. Select “Custom Install”, click on “Next>” 1 2

5. If you just downloaded the software – you no need to check if it is up to date (please do not click on “Check Server”). Then click on “Next>” to continue

6. Select ONLY “VisualWorks”, then click on “Next>” (Object Studio is not required to run Cormas)1 2

7. Click here to choose where the new folder is.
Click on “Browse…” to indicate where the VisualWorks should be installed

“Directory Selection” is shown. Choose your own proper location. Then click on “OK” 1 2

9. Next click on “Next>” to continue

10. Mark at “COM” object. To have a shortcut on desktop, please mark on “Place shortcut on desktop” And then click on “Next>” (COM Module must be selected, because it is required for communicating with Excel.) 1 2 3

11. It shows “Installation Options Summary” You just click on “Next>” to continue

12. To mark on “Accept”, and then click on “Install” to continue1 2

13. Please wait until “Overall Progress” is 100%, then click on “Next>” to continue

14. Finally, click on “Exit” to finish the VisualWorks installation

15. Visualworks is installed!
Now your computer has VisualWorks.
If you have chosen “Place shortcut on desktop”, then you will see the shortcut on your computer’s desktop.
