Analyzing & Evaluating an Advertisement
Galaxy Beam Good evening ladies, we all watch advertisements everyday and be affected by their content, However, we don’t really recognize their message. we might also buy products without necessarily knowing enough information about them, just because they advertisements encouraged us to do so. In this presentation, my group and I will analyze an advertisement as critical thinkers to know how to recognize messages that we receive. We will highlight the Argument, Issue and conclusion. And explain the persuasion tactics. We will try to find the reasoning errors and then judge the effectiveness of the advertisement. Finally, we will give you a brief summary of what we cover.

student, businessmen/ women, teacher and the people who are interested in watching movies Coast: about 2500 SR We are going to advertise a Samsung galaxy Beam. It it’s the last product that had been given to the market. It was about three month since it was invented. It interests the student, the businessmen or women, teacher and the people who love to watch movies or videos. It cost about 2500 SR.

This advertisement is trying to convince us that Galaxy Beam is a very great smart phone to capture the special moments with the family. Issue: Is galaxy beam a useful phone for the family to share their great moments? Conclusion: Galaxy Beam is a smart phone that provided with enough features that make you enjoy your moments with your family and watch the photos on the walls or any flat surfaces.

Persuasion Tactics Using Catchy music Applying to Emotions
Repeated use of the product In each advertisement designers use several techniques in order to encourage people to buy a certain product. In this advertisement about Galaxy Beam, designers used more than one technique to make a stronger affect on people. 1)They first used catchy music to grab people attention. 2)They also tried to have an impact on recipients’ emotions , by showing a happy family setting with together, sharing memories and enjoying their time. 3)And, to make the advertisement stronger and more affective, they repeated the part of using the projector(the new feature that make this smart phone special).

Reasoning errors Unneeded repetition Focusing on one feature only
No stated conclusion You can see in this ad nowadays it is valuable to have a smart phone with a camera to record memories any time and nowadays it is so easy to do that . However , there are some errors in this ad : First : In the middle of the ad and when they show as the home from outside at night the viewer will think this is the end of the ad and then they repeat the same idea again. Second: this ad only focus on the camera and the projector and they didn’t mention any other idea about the features of the phone which cause the viewer to ask questions about the other specification of the phone . Third: at the end of the ad there is no ( ) for the ad , they miss a very important part . This part conclude the main specification of the phone in one sentence.

is this advertisement effective?
effectiveness is this advertisement effective? all in all, I think that this advertisement is effective. However I would suggest showing different uses of the phone other than the camera & projector .as well as different kinds of people. Specially those who might get more benefit of this phone. Such as students and business people.
