The NMRL laboratory was accredited
The progress towards accreditation requires continuous mentorship of labs
Regular internal audits and assesment to access progress
The results from the Internal assessment has assisted laboratories for the regional peer review assesments
There has been an additional of two labs; Marsabit and MTRH, Oncology

Adequate Infrastructure
Eminent team work and spirit
Well documented policies and procedures covering almost all the requirements, for most of the facilities
Good, planning, budgeting and inventory management system
Customer focused management system
Availability of high throughput equipment with adequate backup

Identification of NCs, Corrective Actions and Preventive actions
Evaluation and audits was also an area poorly performed
No systems for calibration of ancillary equipment –This will be addressed by newly formed National Equipment and calibration center
