1 Study Strategies—for real, yo!
Bring Transcripts on March 17!!! Study Strategies—for real, yo! How do I study effectively? How do I use effective study habits to manage my time? Advisory: March 3, 2017

2 CORNELL NOTES AUDIO NOTES
Use Cornell Notes when you take your notes in class. Write the summary at the bottom of each page of notes each day at home as a way to review the day’s notes—in stead of cramming everything all at once. Then reread the summaries when you need to study. You can also use the Cornell Notes as flashcards later. Cornell Notes Example Use the voice recorder on your phone or computer to record yourself reading your notes each night. Save each file with an accurate title. Listen to your notes over and over again— on the bus or train, walking or exercising, or even just sitting or relaxing.

3 Math?—Kahn Academy videos!
STUDY GROUPS LECTURE VIDEOS Grab some peers and find a spot on campus to work together. Have lab questions to complete?—discuss them first (like a Fishbowl) so you understand the material fully before writing your answers. NO COPYING, though! Review material and concepts together—if one person has questions, someone else may be able to answer them. You learn 90% of what you teach—if you can teach it to someone else, you’ve mastered the content. Watch online videos of lectures from Universities or Institutes so you can better understand the content, the theory, the history, or the context. Math?—Kahn Academy videos!

4 TUTORING PRACTICE QUESTIONS
Practice questions to ensure you understand the concepts. Write your own questions, so you understand the theory, and also anticipate the content covered on the exam. Use a White Board in your house to help you write things out, teach them to others, or just better visualize ideas across subjects. Sign up for an ARISTA tutor right here at school. You can sign up on the website or speak with Mrs. Baksh. QHSS has a Writing Lab run by Ms. Keeley. You can sign up for help from a writing tutor on the school website. ASK FOR HELP when you need it!
