2 Welcome to “Ninni Cassarà” school
The Istituto comprensivo “Ninni Cassarà” is attended by students from the age of 4 to the age of 13.

3 In fact “comprensivo” (comprehensive) means that it includes:
Kindergarten (from 3 to 5)

4 Primary school (from 6 to 10)

5 Scuola Media (from 11 to 13)

6 The school is located in Partinico, a town near Palermo , on the west coast of Sicily.

8 It is composed of two buildings, in two different areas of the town

9 Data The school is attended by
141 students and 14 teachers at kindergarten 200 students and 25 teachers at primary school 281 students and 43 teachers at scuola media The administration staff is composed of 4 people and a director. Our headmistress is Miss Chiara Gibilaro

11 Who was “Ninni Cassarà”?
He was a vice-questore (chief of Police) in Palermo. Born in Partinico he was killed by the mafia at the age of 37, in He cooperated with the American Police and he was also in the staff of the judge Giovanni Falcone killed by mafia in Ninni Cassarà was married and father of three children. For us he’s a symbol of honesty, bravery and struggle against mafia.

12 Our logo “Vietato calpestare le idee” “Do not tread on ideas”
Our students chose this logo to say that we want to respect the differences between us, the different ways of thinking and the different choices. At school, we all work in order that everyone could be an individual, able to think and act in a unique way.

13 Values and goals of the school
Enhancing our students aptitudes and abilities; Staying and living the school life with a strong sense community;

14 Respecting ourselves, the others and our environment;
Strengthen the cooperation between school and families;

15 Involving people considered as “different” (foreign students, disableds, disadvantaged pupils) being aware that each member of the community has his/her own value.

16 One of the main point … For the work done to overcome the different types of disadvantages, some years ago the school was chosen as seat of territorial resources centre for pupils with special needs (CTRH) and Support centre (CTS)
