Panel 1 Recommendations
MAWA Forum & EDA to determine how best to promote EMAR concept. (e.g. EUROCONTROL/ASD/EASA) MAWA Forum to share Basic Framework with ASD. pMS to seek quick wins based on lessons learned for promotion & collaboration. Task Forces to determine when and how to engage with industry & other 3rd parties. © British Crown Copyright 2009

Task Force to determine what level of trust for mutual recognition. i.e. formal recognition traded with audit. MAWA Forum to consider task force for mutual recognition. (later) Industry organisational approvals to account for civil organisational approvals where appropriate. Note: Trust not possible without common approach to safety. TF1 to consider initiating a feasibility study associated with the formation of a European Military Joint Airworthiness Authority. (Roadmap item 7). © British Crown Copyright 2009

EDA to be more proactive in rationalising with other airworthiness forums MAWA will not develop new specific design standards, utilising existing standards (UK,US,IT systems – “Safety Target Approach” - and others if existing with the same technical level and maturity contents) Evaluate them for applicability and technical contents and express preferences Developing an equivalent MIL-HDB-516b document that points to the existing military/civil standards Evaluate the feasibility to link MAWA procedures with US military

Military Harmonisation Other NATO, EU and PfP nations are encouraged to join and assist with ratification process of NATO STANAG It is free all are welcome! Only direct expense is travel and hotel costs Wider Engagement by EASA & EDA with NATO Active commitment to ensure harmonisation through EASA and EDA specifically to enter into bilateral discussions regarding civil and military harmonisation for UAS with STANAG 4671 committee

Clarification of Sense and Avoid Who is responsible for regulations for controlled and uncontrolled airspace within EU? Particular concern is about Sense and Avoid issue, which also may become a critical issue with respect to certification and airworthiness Exchange of accident databases Exchange of accident databases between civil and military users. (UAS only) From Workshop) EDA to consider feasibility of the exchange of information on accidents/occurences amongst military authorities within pMS (all aircraft types).
