2. My role – 3D modeller
Many 3D modellers are self-employed, but in my case in a professional manner I believe I would be working for a mainstream company with many different people that work in job roles that are essential of me to work with. 3D modellers must have advanced math and computer skills. Other skills may be required depending on where the 3D modeller works. For example, 3D modellers in the film or video game industry must have above average creative and design skills. You don’t need a specific qualification to be a Game Designer. However, most people entering the industry are graduates.

3. Games artist
As a modeller I would have to communicate frequently with the games artists so I can see their vison and then make it become reality with making it in 3D form. Most Artists in the games industry possess a degree or HND in an art subject, such as fine art, graphic design or illustration. They should also know how to use 3D graphics packages such as 3D Studio Max, Maya, etc., and 2D packages such as Photoshop. Kavon Kirkland is a man that is a games developer for Rockstar games, this is relevant to me as my work is highly influenced by companies like Rockstar for their way to convey insane environments and structures, something that my FMP is based around.

4. Assistant Producer
Since I would be making a 3D model for a mainstream company and not a indie one I would have to work closely with the assistant producer as they are trying to get the game out on time as there is a deadline as well as trying to make it the best as possible.
You won’t need a specific qualification for this role but you will need relevant production experience. They would need to have been educated to degree level, and/or be experienced in game development.
Casey Coleman is a woman who is an assistant producer at 2K games, this is relevant to me as I if I was a 3D modeller at 2K games I would be in contact with her as well as the other assistant producers to make sure that my model is done on time and to my best ability.
