F A L L – 1 8 E N V – – 0 0 1 E N V I R O N M E N T A L G O V E R N A N C E This course examines current theoretical and analytical approaches useful for understanding environmental governance in today's complex problem domains. Focusing on the human dimensions of environmental resources, students examine major approaches to understanding complex human-environmental issues, such as conventional environmental problem solving, framing and discourse analysis; and social ecological systems thinking. Students develop a conceptual foundation and the analytical abilities needed to assess environmental governance concepts, issues, and cases associated with "wicked" environmental governance settings.
