Certain provisions of this Regulation have been implemented in Montenegro
The use of leghold traps is prohibited
Remaining provisions of the Regulation will be implemented through amendment to the Law on Nature Protection, which is expected to be adopted by the mid of 2013

Article 66 of the Law on Hunting (“Official Gazette of Montenegro” no. 52/08) prohibited the use of leg hold traps

Need to upgrade of capacities in the fight against the illegal use of leghold traps.
More financial sources to be provided for adequate implementation of the Leghold Directive.
