Farmers Market Program EXPRESS MARKETS
Over the years we have realized that we need to provide additional sales channels to attract and retain farmers Some of the difficulties of retaining the farmers have been: Changing demographics of the market visitors – Increasing tourists during farm season June - October Economy Cooler space Location - Harder to get to/Parking One of those channels are our express markets or smaller lunchtime markets in heavily trafficked areas throughout Seattle. We currently run 5 express markets Currently have 98 vendors – 78 farmers and 20 artisan food producers. This is a representation of how this program has been trending over the years. While attendance for PPM is down 5.1% while the Express Markets are up Last year overall attendance was at a 10 year high. Revenue from rents is up 1.1%. 2016 is in line with historic average.

EXPRESS MARKETS - Total Sales by Year
This graph shows the growth of our Express Market program Farmers Markets trending up nicely. We saw good growth in Total sales of $901,000 YTD, up 31% over 2015. Specifically you can see from we had the same number of markets and increasing sales overall with SLU as our highest grossing market. A total of 47 vendors participated in the farmers market program. 29 farmers, 17 artisan food producers and 1 rotating craft booth at MS. Accept debit/credit and EBT at all locations
