1. ESL Family Night
May 10, 2006

2. On May 10, 2006 we had our annual ESL Family Night for families to come and share their favorite family food and view work their children have done.

3. Everyone signed in as they came and used a name tag so that everyone could get to know each other.

4. We had food from Austria, China, the Czech Republic, Germany, Puerto Rico, Sweden, Taiwan, the United States.

5. All the food is served buffet style and people chose what they want to sample.

6. Then they sit in groups and enjoy it . . .

7. and eat some more. . .

8. After eating, we sat and watched a video of the work the ELLs had done over the year.

9. There was a play about Harriet Tubman and the Underground Railroad, enacted by ELLs in grades 7-12.

10. After the play there was a weather report and weather song by ELLs in grades K-2.

11. Then we had a commercial about the Gettysburg Stables, circa 1863.

12. Our final segment on the video was the ESL News which featured an interview with Abraham Lincoln and his Gettysburg Address.

13. Everyone enjoyed the show.
