7 Overview of Attributes
Site Hub uses business entities (objects) of Site, Location, and Trade Area Group. Attributes associated to these entities capture characteristics and functional areas in your sites. Site Hub Entities Overview of Attributes Attributes are used to capture information for Site Hub business entities. The Trading Community Architecture Enabling Infrastructure layer is the underlying structure for this entity data; there are corresponding to tables in TCA for managing the entities. 8 Overview of Attributes
Site Hub provides seeded attributes and supports user-defined attributes for site, location, and trade area groups to capture your organization’s functional requirements. Overview of Attributes User-defined attributes provide flexibility in defining and capturing attributes specific to an organization, an industry, a geography, or proprietary data. The Administrator defines attributes, attribute groups attribute pages, and assignments in the Site Hub Administrator Role pages. You can: Define a comprehensive list of custom attributes specific to your business requirements Use attributes from third party external applications Search site records based on specific attribute values On the Create Attribute page, enter values in the required fields for: Internal Name Display Name—name displayed on the page Sequence—determines the order listed of the attribute when creating attribute pages Column—specifies the column name where the attribute is stored in the database table Instructor Note Refer participants to Creating Attributes, Oracle Site Hub User’s Guide for detailed information regarding attribute creation. Attribute Groups Attributes can be categorized and grouped within Site, Location, and Trade Area Group business entities. Attribute Groups Sites may have similar attributes such as a collection of stores or branches that are similar in size, merchandise, or marketing areas. You can group attributes based on business functions and: Define an unlimited number of attribute groups. Reuse the same attribute group across different sites. Filter the search display using attribute group values When creating attribute groups, choose a behavior mode for your record: Single-Row associates one attribute value with each attribute—that is, data is captured in a one-to-one relationship. Multi-Row associates multiple sets of attribute values with the same attribute—that is, data is captured as a table of values. Number of columns in the page layout—the number of columns to appear in the attribute group pages. Number of rows in the page layout—for multi-row groups only, the number of rows to appear in the attribute group pages. The setup of attributes for each business entity is similar. The exception is of the requirement of creating trade area records before creating for the trade area group attributes. Site Hub Administrator - Defining Attributes

10 Attribute Group Assignments
Assigning attribute groups is an important step for viewing and editing associated attributes with corresponding business entities. Attribute Pages Attribute pages are a view used to display attribute groups separately in categories. You can create attribute pages for each site, location, and trade area group entity. Attribute Pages Attribute pages are views of the attribute group categories: You must assign site purposes, countries, and trade area groups to attribute groups in order to create attribute pages. Pages can contain one or more attribute groups. Site data for attribute pages is entered and viewed on the site record, in the Attributes tabbed region. Associated attribute pages are visible on the site map when the site icon is selected. Site Hub Administrator - Defining Attributes

15 Site Purpose Assignments
Assigning attribute groups to site purposes is an important step for viewing and editing associated site attribute groups. Site Purpose Assignments Attributes define the characteristics of the site, and purposes specify the function used for the site. A comprehensive list of attributes can be defined for segments of industries, designated as purposes in Site Hub. For example, in the retail industry—site purposes can include department stores, specialty stores, supermarkets, convenience stores, and chain drug stores. The Attributes Group and the Attribute Pages tabbed regions display all the assignments for the purpose selected. Use the Assignments page to add attribute groups to a site purpose. Instructor Note Refer participants to Location Attributes, Oracle Site Hub User’s Guide for detailed information regarding site attribute group creation. Site Hub Administrator - Defining Attributes

20 Location Country Assignments
Assigning attribute groups to country locations is an important step for viewing and editing associated attributes with locations. Location Country Assignments Assigning a location attribute group to a country is used for viewing location attributes, and required if creating location attribute pages. Attributes define the characteristics of the location, and countries specify the place of the site. A comprehensive list of attributes can be defined for segments of locations in Site Hub. The Attributes Group and the Attribute Pages tabbed regions display all the assignments for the country selected. Use the Assignments page to add attribute groups to a country location. Instructor Note Refer participants to Viewing and Creating Location Attribute Assignments, Oracle Site Hub User’s Guide for detailed information regarding attribute creation. 23 Creating Trade Area Groups
Trade areas are used to define trade regions. You can: Define multiple trade area regions for each site Capture trade area attributes View areas on a map Creating Trade Area Groups A trade area is used in Site Hub for marketing, education, or advertising. You can create primary, secondary and tertiary trade areas for sites. For example, the primary trade areas could be defined as the nearest source of customers, secondary as residential neighborhoods where customers live, and the tertiary trade area can consist of customers farther away. Each trade area group can have multiple trade areas defined and associated user-defined attributes, you can: Define up to 5 trade areas for each of your sites Capture demographics in the attributes View areas on a map as concentric circles around your sites Instructor Note Refer participants to Viewing and Creating Trade Area Groups, Oracle Site Hub User’s Guide for detailed information regarding attribute creation. Site Hub Administrator - Defining Attributes

24 Creating Trade Area Groups
Trade area groups are used for site screening and market analysis. You can create inclusive and exclusive types. Creating Trade Area Groups The trade areas can be of types: Radii trade areas are inclusive, meaning they include the whole area within the circle. Donut trade areas are exclusive, meaning each trade area only covers the outer part of the circle (which is not covered by the inner circle). The radius of each trade area can be defined in kilometers or miles. In the Trade Area Details region, set a Maximum Radius for each of the trade areas selected. Assigning attribute groups to trade area groups is an important step for viewing and editing associated attributes. Trade Area Group Assignments Attributes define the characteristics of the trade area, and trade area groups specify the function used for the trade area. A comprehensive list of attributes can be defined for segments of sales, marketing, and demographics of your trade areas. 30 Associating Value Sets
When creating your attributes, you can create records with validation logic to support the needs of your organization. Associating Value Sets Oracle Application Object Library uses values, value sets, and validation tables as components of flexfields and standard request submission. In Oracle Site Hub, attributes capture all the detailed information about sites. Creating records with validation logic is enabled by associating value sets with your attributes. Value sets have the following features in Site Hub: Attributes can have a static or dynamic list of valid values, or a range of values. You can optionally specify a value set with data type and validation rules to be applied when entering data. Value sets can be reused for different attributes. You can create child value sets that are subsets of a parent value set. The parent value set includes all possible values while the child value sets include some of the values from the parent value set. Associate values sets in the Maintain Value Sets page, in the Value Sets tabbed region of the Administrator. All existing records appear in the Value Sets region of the page. Instructor Note Refer participants to Overview of Values and Value Sets, Oracle Applications Flexfields Guide, and Value Sets for User-Defined Attributes, Oracle Product Information Management Implementation Guide.
