California State University Program for Education and Research in Biotechnology. DORIS A. HOWELL FOUNDATION - CSUPERB RESEARCH SCHOLAR PROGRAM 2016 REQUEST FOR PROPOSALS Please note that CSUPERB welcomes and encourages proposals from students in all biotechnology-related disciplines, including but not limited to life, physical, agricultural, clinical and computer sciences, math, engineering, entrepreneurship and/or business. WRPI Dependent on funding, WRPI annually accepts applications for assigned time funding for CSU faculty. The purpose of the WRPI Faculty Research Incentive Award Program is to provide funding for CSU faculty members to develop and submit full proposals to external funding agencies and organizations for water-related research and educational projects. Applications to develop full proposals on any fundable topic are eligible, provided they seek to advance knowledge of California’s water-related issues and the processes that affect them. In accepting an award, a Principal Investigator (PI) commits to develop and submit a full proposal for external funding through their host campus research office.

COAST is the umbrella organization for marine, coastal and coastal watershed related activities within the CSU. COAST promotes research and education to advance our knowledge of our marine and coastal resources and the processes that affect them.

Faculty Funding Opportunities
Grant Development Program Up to $20,000 Awards support activities designed to maximize success in subsequently obtaining external funding Currently accepting applications Deadline: February 6, 2017, 5:00 p.m. PST

Faculty Funding Opportunities
Rapid Response Funding Up to $7,500 For projects that require a quick response outside of the existing annual COAST funding programs unexpected or sudden events (e.g., HAB, El Nino, sea star wasting) Funds for AY still available; proposals accepted on continual basis

Short Course, Workshop and Symposia Funding Program Up to $10,000 Develop and host a short course, workshop, or symposium that promote inquiry, learning and Proposals accepted on continual basis until April 28, 2017 Events must be within six (6) months of award notification or by November 30, 2017

Seminar Speaker Series Program Up to $700 ($1,000 to or from HSU) Host seminar speaker from another CSU campus that would not be able to invite otherwise Funds available for Spring 2017 CMA has one award already but can apply for another
