Chapter - Go Means Go Junior spoke with his parents about going to Reardan. Why did he want to do this? What was there response? What do we know about Reardan?

Chapter – Rowdy Sings the Blues Junior tells Rowdy his plans to go. What was Rowdy’s reaction? Why do you think he reacted this way? How would you react in a similar situation? How does Rowdy disguise his pain?

What are the possible themes or topics up to this point in the story? What evidence can you find that supports your choices?

6 Theme of poverty… The topic of poverty is very clear in the first portion of this novel. How can we use this topic to create a theme? Remember, theme should be a statement that communicates a message to the reader. Ex. The poverty faced by the people of the rez is a never ending cycle.
