New Practical English 1 Reading of the passage If you are with some friends from abroad traveling in China, you can suggest some local herbal products. Many traditional Chinese methods have been proved to be very effective and safe in treating certain illness. What if your friends are reluctant to try them? Facts are the most convincing advertisement. As with Western medicine, some Chinese herbal treatments could have a satisfactory result without any danger or side effects. For instance, medicated oil is good for both headache and insect bites. It is also helpful for other sicknesses. Chinese herb teas can soothe both an upset stomach and mild heatstroke. Yunnan White Medicine Spray will greatly reduce the pain of a stiff neck or a broken leg. All these have been widely accepted in many other countries outside China. Unit 8

Your friends will not only appreciate your kindness, but also get to know the satisfying effects of Chinese medicine. Unit 8
