2
Draw an animal cell and label it. Draw a plant cell and label it.
What are cells? Cells form the basic "building blocks" for ALL living things. Some cells have specialised functions. Draw an animal cell and label it. Draw a plant cell and label it.
3
What is the job of the cell membrane?
It holds the cell together and controls what goes in and out of the cell. What is the job of the mitochondria? It is where respiration takes place making energy for the cell
4
What are the cells in the picture above?
How are they adapted to their jobs? Has no nucleus, and has a large surface area so it can carry as much oxygen as possible. Thin outer membrane to let oxygen diffuse through easily.
5
What are the cells in the picture above?
How are they adapted to their jobs? Ciliated cell The have tiny hairs called cilia The cilia hairs trap dust and microbes and waft them out of the breathing system
6
Draw and label a picture of a sperm cell.
How is it related to its function? It has a long tail that provides movement so it can swim and find an egg cell. It has lots of mitochondria in its head to produce more energy, for its long journey to the egg cell. The head contains enzymes which allow it to digest into an egg cell and join with it.
7
Have a go at writing the equation
What is respiration? Have a go at writing the equation energy oxygen glucose carbon dioxide water Draw a cell diagram to show how substances diffuse into and out of a cell
8
What is the name of this cell?
How is this organism different from an amoeba? Can you point out some parts of the cell that allow this organism to survive?

Work through the revision worksheets Create your own revision poster
My learning outcomes are to… To REVISE the different areas of the cells topic To IDENTIFY the topic on which you need the most revision I will show success by… Work through the revision worksheets Create your own revision poster Order the topics that we have covered to show which ones you are most and least confident with
10
Complete the revision sheets. You can use your books if your need to.
10 minutes Using your netbook and kerboodle: Create a revision poster on one area that you find difficult 15 minutes

Homework – Revise everything that you have learnt on Particles for a test next lesson. MOST CONFIDENT Rank the areas from the list below in terms of how confident you feel on your knowledge of these topics: Microscope – the features and functions Animal cells Plant cells Function of cell components Specialised cells Diffusion in cells Unicellular organisms LEAST CONFIDENT I need to revise this the most.
