Simple Machine Checks Teat scoring immediately after the unit is removed Pulsation. Examine for oedema of teats or place your finger in the liner and check for a throbbing feeling Vacuum reserve. Leak air through a milking unit for 5 seconds, record the fall in vacuum. Vacuum recovery time should be less than 3 seconds. Also if vacuum drops by more than 2kPa with 20%(1 out of 5) units leaking air, this is unacceptable. Vacuum Regulator. Leak air into units to reduce the plant vacuum by 5kPa. The regulator should stop leaking air to restore the vacuum, without overshooting. Check liners for cracks, deposits and age
