6. Direct discrimination
When someone is treated less well, in comparison with someone else, because of their race or ethnic origin, religion or belief, disability, age or sexual orientation.

When an apparently neutral practice disadvantages people on the grounds of their race or ethnic origin, religion or belief, disability, age or sexual orientation unless the practice can be justified legitimately.
