What is your definition of ‘discrimination’? What types of discrimination exist?

Direct discrimination
When someone is treated less well, in comparison with someone else, because of their race or ethnic origin, religion or belief, disability, age or sexual orientation. Example of direct discrimination: ?????

Indirect discrimination
When an apparently neutral practice disadvantages people on the grounds of their race or ethnic origin, religion or belief, disability, age or sexual orientation unless the practice can be justified legitimately. Example of indirect discrimination: ????

Group Activity Read the handout and decide with a partner whether or not it is discrimination, and if so what type: Direct? Indirect?
